Bmp is a file format for storing bitmaps. Flash.display.Bitmap is a class
used to display bitmaps.

I was thinking that. Say , do you know of a way to save a bitmap/bitmapdata as a RAW file. My intent is to take a snapshot of the UI and save it to the users harddrive. Size is not a consideration for this task. I have used the PNG,JPG,JPEGAsync encoders , but all either take along time or freeze up the UI.
If you have the bitmapData, you can get a bytearray of its bytes and write
that to a file.
