    Very Difficult to Edit Videos

      I am using:

      • Adobe Premiere Elements 8.0, completely updated (at least that's what my computer says).
      • Windows 7
      • Sony HD AVCHD Handycam - 4.0 mega pixels - MODEL NO. HDR-CX100

No problems opening the program or my projects. No problems importing media. The problem is playing the video clips I put into the timeline or sceneline. The video is choppy and quite blurry. The sound seems to go on fine while the video freezes and lags. This makes it very difficult to edit my videos. However, when I save the video to my computer using Mpeg or whatever, the video turns out completely fine: crystal clear and running smoothly. The image is also clear when I pause the video while editing. Anyway to fix it so that I'm not ripping my hair out while editing?
