1. Re: Placing a Flash video
JayNewWeb Aug 2, 2007 3:02 PM (in response to JayNewWeb)Very difficult to get help around here if you're not a professional...
Come on, folks... I promise to try to keep it simple and pertinent.
PLEASE... I'm dangerously behind on sleep and have a real tiger by the tail with my business (barely paying the rent while investors talk potential 9-figure company… I'm not kidding at all… after many years of insane work to get to this point...).
Wildform TS told me today that I simply needed to add the "click to play" feature they provide before placing it in DW, which I failed to do. And that two placements of the same SWF on a web page without click-to-play will always result in the same thing playing in both upon opening the page. Normal. He also explained when to export my video to FLV (which automatically also creates an SWF for playing it) vs just SWF (based on the SWF size limits). No problem.
So... now what I want to figure out is simply how to control the size/characteristics of the window/frame I'm placing it in in DW. This may be the trickiest part for me to get a handle on. I noticed in my sample web page (above) that in IE6 I could right-click on the lower version (why not the upper?) and select "Zoom in" and the player got a lot bigger without losing much quality at all. I REALLY need to find the fast track to understanding how to control this sizing thing in placing my FLV/SWF files.
Also, I had a forum member reply offline (not sure why) and he mentioned that DW provides various “skins” for these placements, but I’m not sure what he meant or if that relates to what I’m trying to do.
Please give me the steps or point me to the simplest Help/Tutorial that does just this.
THANKS SO MUCH!!!
