1. Re: standard menu or menu template
Bill Hunt Sep 3, 2010 2:29 PM (in response to Kent Purdy)A standard Menu is for just a Menu - the PSD.
A Template is for when you have additional Motion Assets, like a Motion Background, or Background Audio. With the Template, you get all of those Motion Assets, rolled into one. If you have Motion Assets, and want to use those same Assets (can be changed later, if needed), you want a Template, and EM file.
Good luck, and hope that helps,
Hunt

3. Re: standard menu or menu template
Bill Hunt Sep 8, 2010 4:48 PM (in response to Kent Purdy)Just glad that it was clear.
One can see this, kind of "in action," by looking into the Library folders. Where one sees an .EM (Template) file, there will be perhaps a WAV, MOV, FLV and probably even a WAV file, with the same name. Those are the Motion Assets for that Template. When one Saves a Motion Menu as a Template, all Motion Assets will be gathered up and Copied to the destination folder, and the links to those will be maintained. If one has a Motion Menu, but only Saves that Menu, then no Assets are Copied, and there are no links.
Good luck and happy authoring,
Hunt
