It`s not at all clear what exactly you are trying to do..and at what stage you are getting this error message.By deleting,do you mean uninstalling from
Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs? If yes please provide some info about steps you are following...
Yes I am in the Control Panel ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS. When I highlight Adobe
Reader 9.3.3 to be removed I click the REMOVE BUTTON. Then in a few seconds
I get this message "THIS PATCH PACKAGE COULD NOT BE OPENED. VERIFY THAT THE
PATCH PACKAGE EXIST AND THAT YOU CAN ACCESS IT, OR CONTACT THE VENDOR TO
VERIFY THAT THIS IS A VALID WINDOWS INSTALLER PATCH PACKAGE"
I have another installed Adobe Reader 9.3.3-CPSID_83708 below the above one
that states it was installed on July 20, 2010 ( that is when all my problems
began). When you highlight it No Remove Button appears but it states "THIS
UPDATE CANNOT BE REMOVED
The above 2 programs are causing my FireFox to crash and will NOT allow me
to remove them from my computer, which I should have that right. Please help
me remove these programs.
Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.html and run it to remove
Adobe reader installation.
After which you can do a fresh installation (if you want to ) of Reader 9.3.4 using link:
Thank you for all your help every seem to be working Normal now.
It`s my pleasure
I have this exact same problem. It occurs when I try to remove from the control panel and
when I try to do the update it wants me to do. It seems to have been a problem only once upgraded to this versi
on. I have read another forum which suggested to download 9.4 which should fix it and I have also tried the link to
major geeks but still no joy and being able to remove the error message or the 9.3.3 version. Any furhter help???
I downloaded Windows Install Clean Up which fix it right away. Try it, I am
sure it will work for you as well.
After you download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, you also need to install it, then run it. When it runs, select the corrupted Reader installation and click 'Remove'.
Thanks, I had installed it but not run it!!! Being a blonde I assumed it would run automatically....think I must've downloaded and installed about 4 times!
Have run it now and it seems to have disappeared from the control panel so will see what happens from here. Thanks for the help.
There are unfortunately no instructions anywhere how to use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, so it's easy to get confused. Glad it worked at the end
