1. Re: Why doesn't my Live View look like webkit?
MurraySummers Sep 10, 2010 11:24 AM (in response to Josiah S)Although screen shots are interesting in that they show the issue as you see it, they aren't very useful. The answer would always be in the code. Can you give us a link to the live page?

2. Re: Why doesn't my Live View look like webkit?
Josiah S Sep 10, 2010 11:51 AM (in response to MurraySummers)My question is not about how to fix my layout in Live View. My layout doesn't need fixed. It renders fine in Firefox, Safari, Chrome and IE. My question is how to fix Live View. Are those gray input styles native to DW and something I just have to live with, or can I get DW to use input elements from my OS? And is it possible to change the default font in Live View? It doesn't seem to be consistent with other browsers. After I have taken care of those two problems we'll see whether or not that was what caused my spacing issue.
But, if you want to see the code, check out http://0407.deltagroup.com:81

3. Re: Why doesn't my Live View look like webkit?
MurraySummers Sep 10, 2010 11:52 AM (in response to Josiah S)Your layout is affecting what Live view is able to render. Since Live view is using webkit, one would certainly expect Live view and Safari to render the same. Since the layout markup is what's involved in both processes it's the first place to look for any anomalies.
Please post a link to the live page....
Or if you want to continue to assert that the problem is with Live view then I presume you would have to do that over on an Apple forum.

Josiah S Sep 10, 2010 12:00 PM (in response to MurraySummers)Spacing issues are specifically notable in the "badges" in the bottom left of the content area.

MurraySummers Sep 10, 2010 1:12 PM (in response to Josiah S)'Yanone Kaffeesatz'?
Anyhow, I'm able to see the same differences in spacing. It seems to me that the font is not being properly rendered there. Does it look that way to you?

Josiah S Sep 10, 2010 2:31 PM (in response to MurraySummers)Yes. 'Yanone Kaffeesatz'.
This has nothing to do with my choice of font. My layout renders correctly in webkit browsers, but not in DW. My question is why? It would be greatly appreciated if we could keep the discussion to why Live View doesn't match other webkit browsers than trying to find a flaw in my code. I do not need help debugging my webpage. I need help getting Live View to work as any other webkit browser.
Thank you.

I thought that was what we were doing. To me, it looks as though the font is not rendered the same in Live view as it is in the live page. I was asking if that's what you saw.
At any rate, I'm going to leave this thread now, and let someone else help you....

8. Re: Why doesn't my Live View look like webkit?
bemdesign Sep 13, 2010 5:40 AM (in response to MurraySummers)I believe Live View uses a slightly older version of WebKit which means it's rendering can be a touch different then using the most recent version of Safari. This may particularly noticeable when using technologys like @fontface and CSS3 properties.
