This might be already obvious, but in case it's not -- did you make sure that there isn't a piece of Bridge still
residing in memory? Ctrl-Shift-Escape brings up the Task Manager,
and you might see Bridge in the Processes tab, even
if it's not in the Applications tab.
You were absolutely correct. While not shown as a running application, it was still a live process. Deteted it and the updates all loaded.
