Bill Gehrke Sep 13, 2010 6:52 PM (in response to l1o1t1r1)Short answer is that if your nVidia GTS 240 has 768 MB or more of RAM it can be used to hardware accelerate MPE in Premiere CS5 but MPE and CUDA has nothing to do with its use with AE. It will require the hack to be used.

l1o1t1r1 Sep 13, 2010 7:13 PM (in response to l1o1t1r1)Thanks guys
Thanks Bill - my card is a little over 1 gig and my cpu is an intel i7 920 with 8 gigs of ram win7 ultimate 64bit hd 500megs 7200 (I do have one ieee slot nothing there yet). I am hoping this is enough to run P CS5 as I am wanting to upgrade from Production suite cs4 to production suite cs5.

Bill Gehrke Sep 14, 2010 6:38 AM (in response to l1o1t1r1)8 GB on an i7-920 X58 motherboard means you are not using all three memory channels fully. I am assuming that you have 4 each 2 GB memory modules. If that is indeed the case you have two empty memory slots on the motherboard. If you acquired two more of the same make and model an installed those you would have a much better performing 12 GB CS5 machine.
I see you also list only one disk drive. Minimum system requirements for Adobe Premiere are two disk drives with the second drive being a true 7200 rpm drive. This means internal or at a minimum with an eSATA connection for full speed performance.
