I have just attempted to create a Shockwave presentation, but
it did not go too well. The first file opens and plays, but when it
should go to the next movie, I get this error; "Unable to open
I tried having the file point to just "intro" and also to
"intro.dir" but neither works. Am I missing something? The first
file "start.dcr" loads and works perfectly; it's just any of the
files that this one points to. Is it because THEY also need to be
saved as Shockwave files?

What command are you using to navigate to the next file?
When running in SW you should perhaps be using
'gotoNetMovie()'. You can
test in lingo and issue the appropriate command:
case _system.environmentPropList.runMode of
go to movie "@/name"
I'd say the most likely cause is you're using 'go to movie'
'gotoNetMovie'. Also, when using gotoNetMovie, make sure you
either use the @
reference or 'the moviepath'. So, you may have
gotoNetMovie the moviepath & "intro.dcr"
Make sure you include the '.dcr' extension. When playing the
movie in Director, the
DIRs will open if you use gotoNetMovie and link to a '.dcr.'
