Bill Hunt Sep 16, 2010 9:25 PM (in response to Star Bill)Bill,
The capabilities to Import 100% DVD-compliant VOB's was added with CS4.2. Have you upgraded to that version? If so, and the VOB's are still not working, then that article, that John T. linked to will explain why they might not work.
Good luck,

3. Re: Loss of recognition following After Effects installation
BCuzzillo Nov 13, 2010 8:17 PM (in response to Star Bill)This morning, .vob files were no problem (and looked far better than in VLC). Then I installed After Effects (which had not been installed in the default Master Collection install), and now neither one recognizes vob files. Isn't there some straightforward troubleshooting procedure for this? I have PP version 4.2.1. All updates are current.

4. Re: Loss of recognition following After Effects installation
Bill Hunt Nov 14, 2010 9:22 AM (in response to BCuzzillo)I wonder if your full-paid version of PrPro has "reverted" to the trial version. This has been a Bug that seems very random, though enough users have had this issue, that there is something wrong somewhere. Do you have ANY MPEG support? The trial does not have MPEG Import, or Export.
If that is the case, you would uninstall the programs, run Adobe Clean Script several times, rebooting in between each, then install the programs. Immediately update, before doing anything.
Good luck,
Hunt

BCuzzillo Nov 14, 2010 10:38 AM (in response to BCuzzillo)Reinstalling PP (without uninstalling first) and then applying updates fixed the problem.

Good luck,
