I just downloaded Instant HD 1.2 from Red Giant Site .
What site are you accessing?
i've downloaded the trial from the red giant's official website.
i've downloaded the trial for premiere pro cs5.i've tried lots of times now and every time it says theres a security risk and the program was removed.
Dont know what causes that but I do know that I installed the Trial and it crashes PPRO CS5
I guess its not ready for prime time yet.
Just about to un install it and go for the Boris UP Rez plugin..
FWIW: the crash I get is a "runtime error". I tried uninstalling / reinstalling twice more. No luck.
Luckily : The Boris Up Rez plugin works great so I guess ......"the king is dead...long live the king".

It's very unlikely that software downloaded from the Red Giant server contains a virus. Most likely Norton returned a false positive.
Honestly, you'd do well to remove Norton completely. You should not be doing anything on a production rig that would warrant an antivirus program anyway.
Ya know, I sometimes wonder about those of you who maintain this stance of not needing antivirius on a production rig. Just how are you getting the adobe ugradde patches or the security patches to the OS if your production rig isn't connected to the Internet???????
I just installed Instant HD onto two different systems with PPro CS5 5.0.2, and Instant HD 1.2 isn't working on either one. It gives me an error, then crashes PPro. I sent a bug report to Red Giant, but I haven't heard back yet.
Something is up with the plugin...seems to work fine in AE.
As for internet access, I don't have antivirus software on my edit machines, but I also can turn off and on the internet connection. I just keep it off most of the time...
Thanx for confirming that Eric.
I have also sent them the fact that I experienced crashes.
Re: Anti Virus - its no problem to temporarily plug in and connect for the tasks of Updating etc but I generally / always use a second protected machine for downloads (eg plug ins, email, Forums etc..)
The other issue with connected machines in a post prod rig is the accumulation of junk files.
Same problem here with crashes.
STR8 UP MENACE,
If you have questions and problems with Red Giant's site and software, you should really talk with them about it. Asking on an Adobe user-
to-user forum isn't the most direct way to accomplish what you seem to want to accomplish.
...although to be fair...his post may have brought to light an issue with the software /plugin (crashing) and be a caution to others.
Sort of related to this post. Magic Bullet Looks was working perfectly before the 5.0.2 update. Since the update, when I try to drag it onto a clip in the timeline PPro crashes instantly with no error message.
Red Giant have issued a new installer for InstantHD2.1 (as InstantHD21b.exe) and it has eliminated the crashing issue in PPRO CS5
It now also works a lot faster without the irritating delay upon first application of the effect..
Thanks for letting us know that there is an update that fixes the Magic Bullet Instant HD issue. This is one reason why I read the Adobe forums every day.
Just how are you getting the adobe ugradde patches or the security patches to the OS if your production rig isn't connected to the Internet?
It is entire possible (even recommended on a production rig) to be connected to the Internet and NOT have any antivirus software installed. You just need to know what you're doing, NEVER use Internet Explorer for anything other than Microsoft Updates, and use your rig ONLY for production work (no emails, no browsing unrelated to your work, no Office, no games, etc.)
You mean 1.2b, not 2.1b?
Correct ( typo sorry)
They put it in a drop box for me. I would have assumed they updated the downloadable installer .
