Using Lightroom presets in Photoshop?

Hi,

I apologize if this question has been asked before. I've been told

that I can use my Lightroom presets in Photoshop CS4 and 5.

Apparently by importing them into Camera RAW. Does anyone  have any instructions

on how to do this. Can you apply the preset to JPG's as well?

Thanks in advance.

I’ve not come across this. It’s normally a dual process. Pre-sets in Lightroom on raw data followed by pixel actions in Photoshop on layered tiff or jpeg (from PSD).

LR presets already use ACR, as does PS, so applying them in LR seems the best way of doing it. So to apply the preset in PS you go through ACR either in LR or directly. PS does not do RAW processing

You can try this tip: http://www.lifeindigitalfilm.com/2009/01/tutorial-how-to-convert-lr-presets-to-acr.html

Never seen the need myself as I do all this type of work in Lightroom.

It looks like it's been copied from the original here:

Very similar design and options for a few bucks less... I would be very scared downloading and using it...it looks like malware...

I've made this macOS drag-n-drop tool which converts .lrtemplate files into .xmp.

There's no need to have Lightroom at all. It will convert any Lightroom preset you have so that you can use it in Adobe Camera Raw in Photoshop.

You can find it here:

Hey Giovannia,

I ended up buying this and it worked perfectly. I got all my presets converted to XMP and now I use them with camera raw.

Thank you so much.
