Regarding using a custom color palette in After Effects, check out the various ways to use Kuler with After Effects.
Regarding your other question/issue: I recall that your report was that you couldn't close the color picker with the Enter key but had to click to close it. Is that the entire problem that you're facing, or is there more?
> And, yes, I notified Adobe of the problem, with zero response or help.
I responded on your original thread. You filed a bug report. What response beyond that did you want or expect?
I was hoping for either a recommendation on a workaround, or at least an acknowledgement of a known bug/issue. But I didn't receive anything in response to my submission of the bug report. I'm also attempting to get some input from other users.
I'll check out Kuler, thanks, but I already tried the "Swatch You Want" and it's not even close to a solution, compared to the simplicity of the basic Mac System Color Picker. Unless I didn't set it up correctly, I couldn't even save my own colors to it. Perhaps, Kuler is superior?
If you must have a swatches palette as in Photoshop or Illustrator, you may want to look at Synthetic Aperture's Test Gear. Otherwise your issue remains elusive, but I would check, whether you have some system extension interfering with shortcuts and specific mouse operations. Some menu extension tools have a habit of doing this and cause conflicts with Adobe software. Might also be a general problem with hardware acceleration for graphics on the system level...
Thanks, Mylenium. You're right, this could remain elusive. I have the exact same 3rd party plugs installed in CS5, as I had previously. They're all the newest 64-bit, of course. But, that doesn't mean that they aren't causing problems. What I need to do is install AE 10 on my older 8-core Intel Mac running 10.5.8, to see whether the problem shows up there. That should answer a great deal. Perhaps it has something to do with the new ATI 5870, but I do have Open GL turned "OFF" inside AE.
But, regardless of that, I'm really surprised that I haven't had anyone else chime in about the same issue. I really can't imagine that I'm the only one, as I really have very little custom, aftermarket things running on the computer at all.
With Adobe Libraries integration in CC 2015, you can have swatches in AE to pick colors from. And don't forget the Color Panel (formerly Kuler).
