      How Do I know when an http request has finished. when I start the request I setBusyCursor() to true but I don't know where to set the BusyCurser to false.

          You can use a result event listener to chech when the request has completed:

          <mx:HTTPService
          id="someID"
          method="POST"
          result="httpDone()"
          url="yourURL"
          useProxy="false"/>

          <mx:Script><![CDATA[
          import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent;
          private function httpDone(evt:ResultEvent):void {
          trace("HTTP done");
          trace(evt.result);
          }
          ]]></mx:Script>

          Using this method also allows you to easily debug your http request by looking at the returned result value.
