Thanks, that seems to answer my audio problem but what about the playback issue I accounter after rendering is complete, when I open the file in Quicktime for example and press "play" , I hear sound but there is no video playing. Why, how do I fix that? thanks
You need to give far more information for us to help with a question like that.
What version (exactly) of After Effects? What operating system? What are your output settings? What player are you trying to play the movie in (QuickTime X? QuickTime Player 7.6.6?)?
If you click on my profile all the information is there.
CS5 Windows 7 Home Premium HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q 720 @ 1.60 GHz 1.60 GHz 4.00 GB (RAM) 64-bit Operating System nVIDIA GEFORCE with CUDA IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
Output settings in After effects: Audio on
And... no matter what player I try to open the video in (media player and movie maker that comes with windows 7, quicktime 7.6.6, real player sp 1.1.4...) there is sound but no video playing.
Dont know why the last print screen is blury but it says:
Fomart: Windows Media
Output Windows MEdia Video 9
Include : Project Link
Output Audio: On
Post-Render Action - none
Depth: Millions of colors
Final Size 640x480
Try outputting to something other than Windows Media format.
Does a movie rendered and exported to, say, a QuickTime container using the PNG codec work in QuickTime Player?
Yes I tried outputing to Quicktime...
You said rendered and exported... are you saying after the video is rendered I have to export it? Because I didnt do that.
"render and export" is the terminology for outputting through the render queue. You set up render settings for the rendering and output module settings for the encoding/exporting.
You're saying that no matter what output format you choose, you get blank video? But a RAM preview shows video?
"You're saying that no matter what output format you choose, you get blank video? But a RAM preview shows video?"
That's correct. And the RAM Preview seems to be the only way I can hear the audio on top of my clip (but ill read the FAQ you sent me for that issue). RAM preview shows video, although no matter what output format I chose, I get a blank video. I realized that the CODEC was set to ANIMATION, I changed that to NTSC. Hope that fixes it.
Playback works now in quicktime. I changed the CODED to MPEG. Now my other issue is being able to hear and view at the same time when editing my video and RAM preview is very slow. Hope ill find the answer in the FAQ you gave me above. Thanks again.
