    Publish Server Settings

    mackerr Community Member

      Golive 7.0.2 Mac.

I have a site which I usually edit on my desktop Mac in the office.

Last week I was away. Before I left I copied the site to a Macbook Pro to do some edits while away from the office. All went well until I tried to upload the revised site. The Publish Server information for the FTP server was out of date, probably from the last time the site was run on the Macbook Pro (although it had been trashed since then).

So when I copied the site from the desktop to the laptop it didn't bring the latest Publish Server settings with it.

Does anyone know where these Publish Server settings are stored so that I can make sure they are in sync when I copy a site across in the future?

(I'm running OS X 10.4.11 on the desktop G5 and 10.5.8 on the MacBook Pro.

      Thanks in advance.

      Bob.

I don't remember the specifics for that version (or any others for that matter), but did you copy over just the site root folder, or the whole outer folder with the data and settings sub-folders and .site file? Seems like the site definitions were in there. I don't remember it being the case, but it's possible that the password are stored in the system's keychain and need to be re-entered when transferring to a machine.

Just general wild guesses though, sorry.

Hello Nate, and thanks for coming back.

In fact I sorted the problem out and didn't get around to posting the 'fix'. It seems that publish server information is stored in the pref's file 'Adobe Golive 7.0 Prefs' (in user/library/preferences). So syncing this file across the two Macs sorted out the problem.
