what problem are you having and what are you trying to do?
thanks for helping.
I am trying to embed the font used in my checkbox components.
The reason is so that I can manipulate it's alpha values (fade-in effect) when that SWF is loaded by another SWF.
I have added this code to my SWF checkboxes
_global.styles.CheckBox.setStyle("fontFamily", "Arno Pro");
I have created a font symbol for Arno Pro.
That symbol has been clicked as "Export for runtime sharing".
A URL has been provided to the resultant SWF.
however... when I load that SWF into another swf, the checkbox text "Arno Pro" still cannot be alpha manipulated. (I have tried other fonts, but to no avail.)
Any ideas would be appreciated.
once you have your external swf working correctly you'll need to check shared library assets so you main swf can access those embedded fonts.
thanks, my host SWF does not want to directly use the imported SWF's font symbol. It simply wants to control the alpha value of them.
In that case, does my host SWF still need to access the embedded fonts ?
You mention I need to "check shared library assets ". Where exactly do I "check" shared library assets ?
your embedded font won't work unless the _level0 swf has access to that font.
check the flash help files for "shared library assets".
