I found a flash template and I'm trying to get a contact form to work. There's an input box for a users email address. It's supposed to get passed to a function to validate the form of the email address. However, the input box will only allow numeric/alphanumeric character and a %. The form is a movie clip, and I don't see a way to access any properties on the input field.
there are a lot of ways for this to happen with cs5. the most common is to have a textfield that uses the same font and type text in that textfield in the ide. but there are other ways this can happen, too.
in addition to checking the above make sure your textfield has all the needed characters embedded. and make sure there's no reference to that textfield that applies the restrict property to it.
thanks for the help. I located the properties sheet for the input box and sure enough, the embedded fonts didnt have punctuation checked.
