I'm using Adobe Reader in conjuction with
a bowling program, CDE software- BLS-2011.
When I want to priint awards, I tell it to sort by bowler name
, but it doesn't. There doesn't seem to be any particular sort order.
On the first screen, which is part of BLS-2011, the bowlers are sorted
alphabetically, but when it gets to the PDF screen,
they're not sorted. Any help? I'm using XP-Pro on two different computers, both with SP-3. The people from CDE said that the problem is with Adobe Reader.

Readers involvement would only be to view what something else has created. It has nothing to do with the PDF creation process at all.
What software is being used to create the PDF?
The program is from CDE software, it's called League Secretary, ver BLS-2011. I can't tell you exactly how it works. The names are properly sorted on BLS screen, from there it goes to the PDF screen, where they are no longer sorted properly.
Once a PDF is created, Adobe Reader will show and print its content - it cannot alter it in any way.
So your problem occurs before Adobe Reader gets involved; it's the PDF creation process that is at fault.
