I got some thing related to your question. We can embed swf file any where in flex appliaction using @Embed tag. you can see the more information in http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/flash_perspective.html. This may help you.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, it doesn't help me, because when you embed a swf with the @Embed tag, you won't be able to call the functions in it. So it doesn't work for my problem.
Look into SWFLoader.
Be aware though, you can not directly access AS2/FP8/Flash8 swf's from within an AS2/FP9 app. Local connection is used in this case.
There are dataType and timing issues with SWFLoader. Here is a complete example:
Thanks for the link, but in the example the swfLoaded is a Flex application. This solution will not allow me to load a Flash application since it uses FlexEvent and the Application class.
For the moment, I'm using the Loader class to load my Flash swf, and it does work, however I'd like to embed this Flash application. The Loader doesn't allow me to do it.
It is possible to interact with an embedded swf , I recall seeing a thread on this, but don't recall the outcome. Search the archives on yahoogroups "flexcoders".
