how large is your swf and how large (in total) are the included files
Ok so I made another experimental .swf with png and jpg assets that compiled at 1.4 MB. The only other file included in this app package is the 4kb XML file and the app turned out to be 5.4 MB in size when published. Should I be using just .as files instead of one .swf? I find it easier to work just in one .fla but I am concerned that extras are being compiled in that don't need to be there. Any suggestions?
using class files won't decrease file size substantially.
i've published about 20 ipad apps and the ipa file size is pretty close to the sum of the swf + loaded assets size IF you're loading significant assets. otherwise, an ipa file with almost no assets will be about 3.5mb.
that said, why do you care how large the ipa file is (as long as it installs)?
Thanks for your quick reply I was curious. I like to keep file size down and wasn't sure where some of the uncounted MB were coming from.
