Missteach Sep 25, 2010 9:42 AM (in response to Nando Vieira)Hi,
Thanks. That's interesting. Is that program a new / old prog? I only ask because they might have improved if that prog is an old one.
Cheers

Nando Vieira Sep 25, 2010 9:57 AM (in response to Missteach)There HTML editor I tried was from this URL.
http://www.coffeecup.com/html-editor/
I personally did not care for it after playing around with it for a few days. Before that I had used "First Page" for years from http://www.evrsoft.com/
I'm sure there is nothing technically wrong with the coffeecup html editor, it was just a personal thing.
After using Dreamweaver CS5 demo for a few weeks I decided it was the editor for me.
If you do try there shopping cart I would be interested in hearing what you think of it. Have you check out the dreamweaver exchange site for shopping cart programs?

Nancy O. Sep 25, 2010 11:00 AM (in response to Missteach)I tested Shopping Cart Creator (retail $49) about a year ago.
It's a simple to use, stand alone product that works on your local computer.
- Choose a template from one of the basic layouts.
- Create categories.
- Add product and shipping details.
- Insert ONE image per product. (Only one? Yup!)
The software generates pages in PHP and writes product details to an XML file. No need for server-side databases. But for shops with more than 50 products, a database might be preferable.
Payment processing choices are PayPal, Google Checkout or Authorize.net.
After your shopping site is created, you can open pages in DW or any other HTML editor.
I think this shop would be OK for a small start-up business with very few cart requirements. But IMO it's not flexible enough for medium to large shopping sites.
Test drive before you buy.

OTOH, if you want a full-featured shopping cart that works within DW, look at Cartweaver http://www.cartweaver.com/

Missteach Sep 25, 2010 2:16 PM (in response to Nancy O.)Thanks Nancy - that's useful information. I think I'll wait for their new 'Pro' version to be released in a week or so and give it a test drive.
I don't know 'Cartweaver' - I'll have a look at that too.
Thanks again.
