I have a program that loads variables from PHP. Ultimately, I won't be responsible for producing the PHP but I will have to be sure that flash is loading the variables. In my own tests using a simple PHP file, once the variables were laoded, subsequent changes to the variables weren't reflected until I cleared my cahce. I was conducting these test on my local server so perhaps thsi is not an issue online.
But if anyone has any knowledge about this or knows of a way to ensure that new variables are being loaded each time the flash app loads from the php, I'd be gateful for the information.
If you asssign a random variable to the url string for the php file it should not load from the cache... something like...
var fileToLoad:String = "http://www.domain.com/yourData.php?nocache="+Math.random();
Thanks to Ned Murphy I started down the right track. It took me a while but eventually I was able to get it working using the following format for the URLRequest.
var PHPreq:URLRequest = new URLRequest( "http://www.domain.com/myData.php" + "?" + Math.random());
