I've got a very strange problem... we had a trouble report from a user who said that she couldn't see any of the text in a Flex app we're working on. It works for everyone but this one user--and stranger yet, it works for me when I login as that user, on the same hardware that this user is using.
The only item of difference is the remote desktop client that's being used. In my test case, I connect to the Windows 2003 Terminal Services server from my workstation, and it works. She connects to the same Windows 2003 Terminal Services server from her workstation, using the same credentials, and it doesn't work. If I did see it with my own eyes, I'm not sure I would have believed it.
To prove I'm not going crazy, I made a recording. Check it out:
What in the world!?
We had wmode='transparent', and after we removed it (effectively setting the wmode back to its default--which I believe is 'window'?), this problem went away.
So know wmode='transparent' for us, then.
Why would setting wmode='transparent' cause the text to be invisible only to one user when she's connecting via remote desktop?
Wmode causes lots of weird problems. Avoid it at all costs.
