Bill Hunt Sep 29, 2010 9:40 AM (in response to lou4uandme)Lou,
What I would do is go back to your original Project file (before you did the Offline All). On your four HDD's, change the name of the folders, where your Assets are stored, so that PrPro cannot find them. A one character change will do it. Now, Open your original Project, and when PrPro asks, "Where is file ____.___?" point it to the new location, and let if link to all files in that folder, that are used in the Project.
At that point, do a Save_As, incrementing your Project's name, so you still have the original PRPROJ file untouched.
Good luck,
Hunt

lou4uandme Sep 29, 2010 10:12 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)Ok that sounds like a good work around, however, I'm sure you also meant for me to "rename" the folder back to the original name AFTER I relink.
Only God knows what other programs are linked to those folders.
Update:
Ok, it worked !
Thanks again!

3. Re: Offline/Relink/ Issue-help please
Bill Hunt Sep 29, 2010 10:24 AM (in response to lou4uandme)Yes, once you have forced PrPro to go looking for those files, and have completed the relinking to the Copies in the new, combined location, and done the Save_As, you can go back and change the Renamed folders.
Good luck,
Hunt

jeremy d. Sep 29, 2010 1:25 PM (in response to lou4uandme)All good workflows.
You could also use the project manager for this:
Project>Project Manager
- Collect and Copy
- Tweak the settings, they're pretty obvious
- Save to the new desired location
- Open the new project
Now you have your project and copies of your clips in a single location.

lou4uandme Sep 29, 2010 2:32 PM (in response to jeremy d.)Project manager?..Ha, you're funny.
I don't think I have ever used that without MAJOR Issues, for me anyway.
Back in cs4, I waited 16 hrs for it to transfer. I shut it down and did it manual (took 1 hr)
Never tried it cs5, maybe it's better.

If you have Project Manager issues, you should log bugs.
You should also try it in CS5.

I have a project that has over 100 shots that are spread out over 4 Hard drives. (i know, stupid)
Self explanatory considering all factors of your troubled history of managing assets and losing links to them
