    xml from excel to indesign

Hi, I am trying to populate a technical manual using xml and the only way I've figured out to easily enter the fields (and make a user-friendly system was to import the xml tag list into excel and then export it with content for indesign.

The problem I have is that excel will only work with one item of each tag, therefore I have created the xml tag list with one item each - hoping that indesign would automatically recognise when a tag had already been imported in the xml file and fill in those fields that occur multiple times within the document.

So far I haven't been able to get those multiple tag items to appear, only the first instance of each item in the xml list.

Can anyone help me find a way to acheive this. I haven't found any help that identifies this issue.

      Cheers
