what are you (pre) loading? the swf that contains your progress bar or something else that your swf is loading.
i'm not trying to pre load something (i think) i want to use a progress bar to represent how far you are thru a period of time. i don't think i was clear enough. sorry. when i say start at a certain time i mean start at, say, 11:00 and be finished at 13:00.
you want to indicate the time of day or how many minutes your swf has been running or something else?
let me see how i can explain this. let's say i'm building a flash movie that shows how far into a shift employees are at a job. for example the progressbar labeled Shift 1 will start showing progress at 7:00 and show the percent completed of the shift and then the progress bar is full at 15:00 when the shift is over. I apoligize if i can't make things clear. i'm just getting into flash.
what determines if it's 7:00 or 15:00 or something else?
wouldn't that be the computers time?
that's your call. if you want to rely on the client's clock you can use the flash date class.
so, if all your progressBar is horizontal and has a dragBar child and all have left side reg points, you can use clockF() where you pass the progressBar reference, the startTime in minutes (24hour time) and endTime in minutes (24hour time).
var d:Date=new Date();
progressBar.startTime = startTime;
progrssBar.endTime = endTime;
var h:Number = d.getHours();
var m:Number = d.getMinutes();
pb.drabBar._x = pb.m*(m+h*60)+pb.b
mc.m = (y1-y2)/(x1-x2);
