My organisation wants to be able to sell its training documentation across the web, by allowing customers to download PDFs.
However, we're concerned that some will download once and copy many times, thus depriving us of potential revenue. We appreciate that selling through the web will increase our reach, but still want to be able to limit the number of downloads to the number of licences paid for. In particular, we'd like to be able to watermark the download with the name of the purchaser and a uniqe download number, to make it clear where organisations have gamed the system.
So, finally, the question. Does Acrobat provide this kind of functionality? If not, does anyone else?
You can add a watermark sure but you would have to do it manually (for each document) in Acrobat.
You should Google "Digital Rights Management". That's normally the solution for this.
