    Dragable mc with input fields

    windsurf88
      Any ideas on how to have the top portion of an mc dragable but needs to drag the rest of mc. The mc contains input text fields.

      track_mc_bar.onPress = function():Void {
      this.startDrag(false);
      };
      track_mc_bar.onRelease = function():Void {
      this.stopDrag();
      };

      The drag works but inactivates the input text fields.

      Any ideas would be appreciated.
      Thanks.

          if i understood you correctly - what you have is a MC containing 'dragging'
          area and some text fields, and you want the 'dragging' mc to be able to drag
          the whole MC - one sollution would be wrting 'this._parent.startDrag(false)'
          instead of what you have.

          good luck,

            Yes -- but using this._parent.startDrag(false) makes whatever is on the stage draggable. If it could be confined to a layer or just the movie selected then it would work. So i thoought to cut up the movie clip, use the drag on one part of it and other has the text input. But the entire stage moves.

            Per haps I am not using this._parent.startDrag(false) correctly.

            ??

              perhaps your dragging MC isn't inside the dragged MC, but on the stage.
              as i said - what you should have is 'dragged_mc', inside it 'dragging_mc'
              and 'input_txt', thus the parent of the dragging MC is the dragged MC
