I want to watch a video on my Philips LCD-tv.  It can play (stream) videos on my computer, but I wonder which options I have to use for sharing a video in Premiere Elements 7.0.  Mostly I can see the video, but I have no audio.

It looks to me like you should be using Share/Computer/MPEG with the 1440x1080 preset.

Though it's hard to say for sure, since you don't say if your original source video or your project is hi-def or not.

I want to you High Definition.  The problem is the correct audio format.

Source: edited AVCHD-video clips taken with a Canon HF100 (with SDHC cards).

              Jan,

As I do not know your streaming device, this is a shot in the dark, but many devices have issues with muxed (Multiplexed - combined Audio & Video) MPEG files with MPEG Audio. In your Advanced section, under the Audio tab, do you have the option for PCM/WAV Audio? If so try that.

Also, for the muxed MPEG file, what Multiplexing setting did you choose. It should be "DVD," and not "None."

              Good luck,

              Hunt

Here are the formats that my tv accepts (info from the manufacturer Philips):

                MPEG-2_PS_PAL

MP@ML video up to D1 resolution

                Frame rate: 25 Hz

                Display Aspect Ration: 4:3 & 16:9

                Max. Bit-rate: 1.5 mbps

                Audio Formats:

                MPEG-1 Layer 2

Sample rate: from 16kHz to 48kHz

Max. Bit-rate CBR & VBR: from 8 to 384 kbps

                PCM (digital Audio Standard)

                Max. Bit-rate: 1.536 Mbps

                AC3 (also called Dolby Digital)

                Max. Bit-rate: 448 kbps

                Video Codecs MPEG 4:

                H.264/MPEG-4 AVC [same as MPEG-4 Part 10]

                MPEG-4 Part 2

                Audio Formats:

                AAC-LC

                HE AAC

Which option have I to use for sharing a hd video file?

The specs. do mention MPEG Audio (plus the DD AC3, which is a version of MPEG), so that should work. However, I have seen issues with muxed MPEG Video & Audio. Adobe programs can have such issues. In those cases, a muxed file with MPEG-2 Video and PCM/WAV Audio has almost always worked.

When one goes to Export/Share, there are several settings. One is to check both Export Video and Export Audio, and then the other aspect is from the Multiplexing tab, where one would set to "DVD," or to whatever the setting is, other than "None."

                  Good luck,

If I choose DVD, I would not have hd?

The Share method I detailed in my first post should give you exactly the type of file you need, ian.

(I'm assuming, since your source video is AVCHD, you selected a preset when you created your project for AVCHD video.)

In the Multiplexer tab, this will have zero influence on the Video output, which can be set to HD, per your needs. It only affects the Multiplexing of the Audio & Video. If one chooses "None," they will end up with elemental streams, with one Video-only and one Audio-only files, i.e. two separate files.

                        Good luck,
