If you have cPanel access you can go to Domains>Manage Redirects and do it from there.
I register my domain names at Godaddy and I believe redirects can also be done from inside Manage My Domains, or something like that.
That's the way I've done it before but with my own hosting company. My sis uses a different hosting company and they don't offer a web forwarding service and I don't believe they've been very helpful. When I asked them about it they replied...
If you have a domain parking package, we offer an alias account but we can only alias the domain to a streamline.net-hosted domain.
And this is no good for me because the new domain is wordpress and not hosted by streamline.
That's the reason I need help with code/html as I believe this is the only way that will work. Also, it was streamline themselves that suggested using a redirection script.
If your sister plans to keep the current site hosted where it is, you can create a re-direct page on her server and name it index.html (to replace the current domain name home page).
<html> <head> <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="5; url=http://newDomain.com/">
<meta name="robots" content="noindex">
<h1>This site has moved</h1> <h2>Please bookmark our new URL</h2>
<p>If you are not automatically redirected to our new site in a few seconds, please click on the link above.</p> </div>
PS. Change all instances of http://newDomain.com to your sister's WordPress site.
