Viewing Swatches in Bridge for CS5

    Rodieck Community Member

I have a fairly large number of swatches created in CS3 and CS4 and saved as .ASE files.  In the older Bridge (v3.0.0.464), I could display my user library file and see the colors in each swatch.  When I display my user library in the Bridge that installed with CS5 (v4.0.3.9), I can only see the .ase icon displayed for each swatch name.  Is there any way I can display my swatch colors?  Is there any add-on that could do this for me?  I know I can take each swatch and create a small sample as an .ai file, but that'll be quite a job, and I'm hoping there is some easier way.

I have just spoken with Adobe Tech support as I am having the same issue with not being able to view the .ASE files in Bridge. The answer that was given to me by Adobe was that in CS5 that feature is no longer available in Bridge. Not very nice Adobe.

In trying to further resolve this issue for viewing .ase swatches in Bridge. I am going to use my CS3 Bridge for previewing the .ase and all the rest of the designing in CS5.5.  Adobe Please fix this. And also Tech Support is getting very bad in not knowing about .ase swatches and whether CS3 Bridge can be used with the CS5 applications.

              Hi,

If you remember your old post, I can say that today in Bridge CC it the same.

Eg Bridge is not able to show Ase files neither generate the thumbnail nor listing them as document's metadatas...

              Really a pity.

              Have you find any workaround?
