    Help Linking a Button to a Scene

    finetime

      I'm new to flash and I can't figure out how to link the button I made to say Scene 2 of my flash project. I'm not sure the actionscript required or where I put the action script.

      Here is the file I'm using, trying to simply figure out how to make the open button go to scene 2.

          if you're using as2, don't use scenes for navigation and don't use the goto functions.  use frame labels or numbers and the goto methods:

          _root.gotoAndStop("yourlabel");

          if you're using as3, show your problematic goto code.

            You'll do yourself a favor if you...

            1) Include the code you are trying to get working in your posting.  Not everyone is willing to open and troubleshoot files.

            2) don't use scenes in a file that you plan to use navigation in.  Instead, either divide the one main timeline into section with labels for each section, and/or use movieclips for the different sections and control access to them. Scenes and navigation code just don't get along very well.
