One hard drive does not work for video editing

- you need AT LEAST 2 drives for video editing, 3 is better
- some HD formats work better with (require) RAID

I have a Windows computer (Win7 with Intel i7 930) to edit AVCHD
If all you want to edit is SD (Standard Definition) you MIGHT be able to do so with a 2nd hard drive... but the i3 is really light duty to run Premiere Pro CS5
Thanks for your reply John,
I have a second hard drive where I can place all my files (scratch?), leaving the iMac to take care of the application/system running.
Projects I work on won't be on a professional/commercial level, and at the moment I only use a standard definition camera so I guess it will be OK.
As long as the i3 (and related spec) can cope with CS5, and not always AE & Premiere I will be happy..I use Photoshop and Illustrator more.
IMac's work for SD. HD Gluck
