What version of Acrobat do you have? What exact steps are you taking to start the review?
(start with the moment you open the PDF and finish with the last thing you do before everyone receives it.)
Thanks for the reply. Here are the steps:
1. Open Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Professional.
2. Open a PDF the file that I want to send for review.
3. Click Comments on the menu bar and choose Sent for Shared review.
a. Ensure Enable Reviewers with Adobe Reader to participate check box is selected.
b. Click Add new location, choose Network folder, click Next.
c. Type the network location on which the file is to be shared.
d. Click Verify.
Status: 'Shared folder location is valid' is displayed.
e. Click Add folder.
f. Click Browse and select a local location of the file that should be sent for review and click Next.
a. Choose Automatically send email invitation to reviewers and select Sent a link to the PDF in the message.
b. In Browse, select the folder location that was verified earlier
In save as: \\abc\folder\file.pdf is displayed.
a. Invite reviewers from Address Book and Click Next.
a. Preview the email invitation and click Finish.
4. Email is received by the reviewed with proper link. But when clicked on it, the PDF opens and they are able to comment but the top yellow bar which has the Publish comments button is missing!
I would first check the identity you have for them in the shared review against their identity in Reader (Edit>Preferences>Indentity) and make sure they are the same.
I did verify the identity and even if it does match the yellow bar does not showup. In some cases, for people who did not set the identity set were prompted to fill it in (but these guys had Acrobat Standard and not Adobe Reader).
Any more thoughts please!
Unfortunately, I mostly do email reviews so am not familiar with the server arena.
Hopefully someone will come along with more experience there.
Oh alright. Thanks for trying.
And, in case if it helps. I did try the e-mail review too and when I send an e-mail review, the receiver does not see the yellow bar with send comments button. Although they can comment, save and then attach it.
