On my computer (Sony VAIO laptop running Vista) I see everything you show in your picture, including the "increase" and "Decrease," but not the color names! also, only a small piece of of the "Tip" message shows. I have also noticed other problems with what seems to be the communication between PE9 and the operating system services that control what you see on the display.
My screen resolution is full hd (1920 x 1080). However since this
resolution produces very small type at the default font size of 96 dpi on my
14 x 7.5" screen, I have personalized the font size to 144 dpi. This seems
to be the problem with PE9: it assumes the operating system's default font
size. When I changed back to 96 dpi the pop-up was properly formatted,
showing the color names.
While this explains the observed behaviour, I consider it a bug in PE9,
since it has no business assuming the 96 font size. It would be a great
inconvenience and strain on my aging eyes to have to do everything at 96
dpi. Of course the fact that PE9 itself uses a very small font size is a
nuissance too, but I can see that it is necessary in order to have a decent
size work area.
That is very odd. The organizer becomes weird in many ways if you change from 96 ppi, but it shouldn't really affect the editor much. In any case, here are some suggestions for ways to improve readability:
Thanks for the reference, but it really doesn't offer anything useful. For
one thing, it suggests increasing the font size!
I still feel that we have a bug in PE9 here, which Adobe needs to fix.
And what about my other complaints? Loosing my palette settings whenever
the computer is rebooted is particularly aggravating.
