When I import songs into Adobe Premiere Elements 8, the song's sound turns off about 6 minutes into the song. You can see that the volume level is the same, and you can see the audio wave patterns. When the same mp3 file is played on my PC outside of Adobe Premiere, it's fine, the entire song plays. This is really frustrating because it happens again and again with almost every song that's longer than about 6 minutes. Has anybody seen this problem, and does anyone know the solution?
PRE can be funny about MP3 files. I recommend you use Audacity to convert your MP3 to PRE's preferred format PCM 48kHZ 16-bit uncompressed.
Install and run Audacity (it looks complicated but for this task it's a cinch). Drag your MP3 to the Audacity window, then go to File> Export. The default option is ideal for PRE. I suggest you save the file in your project folder. You then bring it into PRE as you would any other file.
