    gotoAndPlay using variables

      I have a timeline that contains several named keyframes (e.g., topic1, topic 2, topic3, etc.) What I want to do is create a Next button so that, when released, the timeline would jump to the next topic. I am having difficulty, though, in figuring out how to code it so that the topic updates automatically as the timeline plays. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

          To use the same button for all movement, you could have a variable that you assign the number of the current label section (1,2,3,4,etc) when you reach the sections labelled frame, and when you click the button it issues a command using that number+1... for instance, if the variable is named "tn"

          gotoAndStop("topic"+(tn+1));

          So in the frame labeled topic1, you would assign tn = 1.  That way, the tn value is current (which might be useful otherwise as well) and the button will bring you to topic2
