I have a dilemma with a Spark DropDownList I have in my app. I've got functionality when the user clicks(mouseUp) anywhere in the main area of the screen, a Menu component pops up. Now, the DropDownList is at the top of the screen, and when the user clicks on it, it opens as it should. The problem is that the "change" event is triggered when there is a mouseDown over the selection, so when the user clicks the button down, the menu disappears and then when the mouse comes back up it triggers the Menu component, so that every time they click an item in the DropDownList, the Menu comes popping up immediately after.
This is extremely frustrating, so I'm wondering if there is a way to change the trigger for the change event to a mouseUp instead of a mouseDown. Thanks.
Why not listen for CLICK instead of MOUSE_UP? Then the thing the mouse goes
down on has to be the same as the thing the mouse goes up on.
That worked perfectly! Thank you!
