I'm having a problem with an extension I wrote for Photoshop CS5 (Flash Builder + CS SDK).
On Macs it installs and works; I have a PC user (Windows 7 Pro 64 bits) that reports me an Extension Manager error message which says something like this (I'm translating from Italian):
"Can't install the extension: it requires Photoshop version 12 or higher"
Obviously the user has the entire CS5 suite, so he's puzzled as I am.
Just in case you want to know it, the MXI lines for the product is:
<product name="Photoshop" version="12" primary="true" />
and again, no any troubles with Mac.
Thanks in advance,
Because Photoshop has 32 bit and 64 bit, so you should specify product name in mxi file like below:
<product name="Photoshop64" version="12" primary="true" />
A better way is to specify familyname attribute in mxi file for both 32 bit and 64 bit, and for both Mac and Windows. When familyname attribute is specified, name attribute is ignored. The example is shown below:
<product version="12" familyname="Photoshop" primary="true" />
this really sounds like the correct solution - I've fixed the code and sent to PC users for testing.
All the best,
I confirm - it works, thank you
