Getting Started

    ls_to_2010

      Hello;

      I'm trying to create a simple Flex application that makes a Web Service call to another application and displays the PDF document that is returned.

      I am totally new to Flex and Action script.

      I started with a hello world app, which was easy to set up. Next I decided to add a fx:Script and start working with some of the mx.rpc.soap classes. However I get a Access of Undefined Property every time I try and use a variable I have defined within my Script tag. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
      <s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
                        xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
                        xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"
                        pageTitle="Integration Sample">
           <s:layout>
                <s:VerticalLayout paddingTop="20" horizontalAlign="center"/>
           </s:layout>
           <fx:Script>
                <![CDATA[
                     import mx.rpc.soap.WebService;
                     [Bindable]
                     var myService:WebService = new WebService();
                     [Bindable]
                     var repoWSDL:String="some url";
                     myService.loadWSDL(repoWSDL);
                ]]>
           </fx:Script>
      </s:Application>

      NOTE: The string value "some url" does have quotes around it. I am just not sure how to get them to show in this post.

      Thanks!

      Luke
