Just a guess, based on your full comments, I would check your fonts. This ARTICLE might offer some tips. Though your crashes do not seem to be coming with Titler, the PS crashes lead me to believe that it's likely a font issue.
Welcome to the forum and good luck,
PS - also, resetting the Preferences (both PrPro and PS) might be useful. Note: uninstall/reinstall will NOT overwrite the Preferences files.
Ok now Premiere seems to start working again, I had removed the preferences and done the permission fix a few hours ago, which are the last modifications I did to the files of PrPro. And now it works :S
Its possessed! Let's hope it stays working
Glad that the Preferences file seems to have helped.
Fingers X'ed here, that it continues to work fine.
Nope, ran once perfectly. And when I run it again, crash on startup right after the splash image loads up
So its not a type error if it actually loaded, any ideas?

This is interesting, I went to the preffs: documents/adobe/premiere pro/5.0
And then deleted everything except the project files, and restarted the program and it worked fine!
So to test it, I closed the program and restarted once the preffs have been written and it seems to still work
My conclusion, its something in the preferences that is making Premiere crash, I put everything on Read&Write so let's hope this doesn't happen again
Won't run, it worked fine a few times before. I deleted the preffs again, but it still won't run.
Anyone have a solution?
did you ever come to a solution for this?
I believe I am having the same or simular problem.
im on a mac .. 10.5.8 with enought disk spack.. about 50gb
have downloaded update for primiere.
two things are happening
1.freezes/stalls/doesn't respond on opening program.. I have to force quit it or on some occasions it just quits itself. this occurs on new and exsisiting projects.
2. on 3 occasions after i had fiddled around with deleting preferences, i have been able to edit .. however no unable to add footage as the second i trie to add footage to timeline it stalls/freezes/does not respond. then i have a world of hurt and can't re open.. back to problem 1.
what trouble shooting i have done..
2. run no other software etc.
3. Documents>Adobe>AdobeProductName (like Premiere Pro) Inside of this, there is a folder with a number (usually 4.0 for CS4). Take that to the trash and restart your application. -> this is where i can start old project but not a new one..
4. run disk utility on comp
5. re start comp etc
im not to sure on what else i can do ..
I would GREATLY appreciate any help.
What I tried was to open the program with a project file, instead of the
Application file, and it worked that way everytime. Then it started to work
with the application file.
So try that, who knows
thanks for your reply .. i have no idea what an ATI card is .. so i am guessing no?
I think you sent this to the wrong person, I'm not Bill.
And an ATI card is a brand of graphics/video card, aka ATI Graphics Card.
im starting to find that to..
It also seems that before i open Premiere i have to go and delete do this
Documents>Adobe>AdobeProductName (like Premiere Pro) Inside of this, there is a folder with a number (usually 4.0 for CS4). Take that to the trash and restart your application.
then it seems ok .. for a bit ..
this isn't ideal .. but if i can work then is better .. for now. .. sigh ...
I dare say there is something to this but just having to find out what .. would be nice.. I seem to have a lot of problems with getting glitches sorted with adobe software.. oh which i still love lol ..
this is the error report that i have been getting..
thanks digital ricky .. i suspected that might be what a ATI card was..
so def nope don't have that
>so def nope don't have that

You choose About This Mac from the Apple menu, then click More Info, and then look at the details for Graphics/Displays.

Uninstall Premiere Pro. Reinstall Premiere Pro. Don't install the update. See if the crash still occurs.
it was to begin with .. thats how i found the update .. because it was not responding .. and i was looking for something on net ..
i can try again ..but have my doubts ..
> i can try again ..but have my doubts ..
There's no point if you were seeing the problem before.
