upstart1762 Oct 26, 2010 12:11 PM (in response to hans-g.)Yup. I'm signed in and the widgets are added (supposedly). There doesn't seem to be a "widgets" option in the "insert" panel. Has anyone loaded new widgets and then accessed them through DW CS4? If so, how?

upstart1762 Oct 26, 2010 1:42 PM (in response to hans-g.)Thanks for your effort, but I think I've been clear in describing that I'm in "My Widgets" already, and I'm not looking to copy and paste code. I'm trying to find out if I should be able to select "Widgets" from the "Insert" menu in Dreamweaver CS4 as I keep reading I can. I'm guessing not, since I haven't gotten any suggestions and I can't figure it out myself. Must be a CS5 thing. Thanks anyway. I guess I can try to paste in the code. Little scary for a relative novice.

upstart1762 Oct 26, 2010 1:46 PM (in response to upstart1762)...And this code looks to be just html. Wouldn't I also need to drop in the .css and .js code as well?

hans-g. Oct 26, 2010 11:09 PM (in response to upstart1762)Hi,
sorry, couldn't resist. Seems I talked about the special form of widgets, instead you meant the really spry widgets, sorry.Looking to all informations I could get about Spry Widgets and CS4 (I work with CS3 and CS5 at the moment), they all will follow the same tenor (and I can confirm that):
Insert a Spry widget
Select Insert > Spry, and select the widget to insert.
When you insert a widget, Dreamweaver automatically includes the necessary Spry JavaScript and CSS files in your site when you save the page.Note: You can also insert Spry widgets by using the Spry category in the Insert panel.

and so too in all these in all these countless video tutorials, for example

Ben Pleysier Oct 26, 2010 11:36 PM (in response to upstart1762)The Widget Button is only available in DWCS5.
But you can add the code manually. After you get the widget you're interested in into your My Widget collection, click on it to preview it. Now click the "Save Widget Files" button (at the bottom of the view) to save the widget files into a folder in your site. One of the files that gets saved into the folder is a sample page that shows the widget working with some sample content. You can either use this page as a starting point or copy the widget code from this page into another one of your existing pages.
