I have attended all the web seminars promoting the hell out
of Flex2. I downloaded all the stuff I thought I needed but, litlte
did in know, I was using a trial of Flex Builder 2. My trial has
run out and Adobe would like me to buy it for $800US. Did everyone
buy it? Am I being dumb? We currently run CF MX7 and I usually dev
in DW 8 (Studio version).
FlexBuilder2 is a product we're still selling.
What's for free is the SDK and the compiler - so you can
develop flex applications without having to buy Flex Builder - it's
just a lot easier and more efficient when you use Flex
As stated, Flex Builder 2 has never been free. My firm bought
FB2 when it was released as it really is too inconvenient to
develop apps without it. Perhaps an opensource IDE will appear
someday, but we definitely can't wait for that.
