Stan Jones Oct 29, 2010 11:18 AM (in response to zorrocbr)You are right that Premiere is more the tool for what you are describing.
You can make limited trims in Encore. Some of us believe that you should not put multiple assets on the same time line; others disagree.
The sync differences you describe do not make sense to me for simple demuxing. What audio format did you bring them to? I would focus on getting better sync from the demuxing.

zorrocbr Oct 29, 2010 11:44 AM (in response to Stan Jones)How would I do limited editing in Encore? Is there any way to do a simple cut? If not and I put each asset on its own timeline will I still have issues? For example.
Asset one on Timeline 1 the audio starts 2 seconds before the video, so to correct this I slide the audio asset 2 seconds over to the right. Now it is lined up correctly with the video, but what happens when the disk is playing and it gets to the end of the video? Will it jump directly to the 2nd timeline when the video ends or will it go there after the additional 2 seconds of the audio plays?
Regarding the demuxing there was probably an issue with the original asset, I don't think my demuxing caused the issue. Another curiosity, When I added the assets to the timeline they all snapped in place as if there were no gaps between the assets, but when I zoomed way in I see some gaps between the audio pieces only. The video lines up correctly.

Stan Jones Oct 29, 2010 12:36 PM (in response to zorrocbr)Bottom line for me: you're asking for trouble trying to fix this in Encore. The audio gaps makes me cringe - it's just a sign of the underlying problems.
The limited trimming I was referring to (I don't even want to call it editing), is just shortening one track or the other and sliding to match.

Bill Hunt Nov 1, 2010 3:32 PM (in response to Stan Jones)Stanley,
I am with you on this. I never try to make Encore do something that I can easily accomplish in PrPro - even simple stuff. The closer to perfect, that I can feed Encore, the better my life is.
To the OP, good luck,
Hunt
