We have a website that is produced from RoboHelp v8. I have been told that when the site is updated, the entire directory must be copied over...because Robohelp compiles the site. I know nothing about RoboHelp so am looking for some clarification. Does RH compile the website or does it simply generate HTML files?
Moving the entire site when it is updated is a major pain--takes several hours. I would love to copy over only the modified or new files if that won't mess things up. Can anyone give me some guidance here? I apologize for not knowing enough to ask an intelligent question. I will fill in other details if I know what you need to understand my question.
Assuming you are using RoboHelp HTML, you edit HTML pages. Then you "generate" to create the WebHelp. The process of generation entails RoboHelp programmatically making modifications to each HTML page. Then it creates files that serve as the container to present the WebHelp system.
RoboHelp HTML even has a built in publishing facility that does exactly what you are describing you want to do. It copies only the changed content.
Unfortunately we need more information in order to advise you further.
