1. Re: Captivate 5 - Properties for Captions - general option
Lilybiri Nov 2, 2010 10:35 AM (in response to KGTS)Hello,
This seems very strange, first time this is coming in the forum since the release of CP5. Could you post a screenshot of the Properties panel you are seeing after the disappearance of the General portion? Certainly a stupid question: are you sure that it is not just collapsed?

Lilybiri Nov 2, 2010 1:43 PM (in response to KGTS)Thanks for posting the screenshot, but I cannot help you. Apparently the General region has really disappeared. Something must have got corrupted. Did you try to reset the workspace you are using at that moment?

KGTS Nov 2, 2010 1:48 PM (in response to Lilybiri)Yes,
I've tried to reset the workspace and to reboot the computer (multiple times).
The only thing that worked, was to re-install Captivate.... yet, here we are, a day later... same issue.
I would hate to reinstall CAptivate every day

5. Re: Captivate 5 - Properties for Captions - general option
Lilybiri Nov 2, 2010 1:54 PM (in response to KGTS)Did you try to delete the Preferences folder already? You have to close CP first, then look for a folder Captivate 5 in your profile. On my OS it is situated in this path:
C:\Users\MyProfile\AppData\Local\Adobe
You can delete this folder, when you restart CP a new Preferences folder will be created. Give it a try?

6. Re: Captivate 5 - Properties for Captions - general option
KGTS Nov 3, 2010 10:06 AM (in response to Lilybiri)I haven't found the properties folder (maybe I am blind)...
I accidentally found an unusual work around, though.
I have several projects... well, if I open Captivate and one particular project; after a few minutes the "General" pane disappears (it disappears for all of my projects).
However, if I close and re-open Captivate and open a different project (not any one of them, but a particular one), the "General" pane is there and remains there for all of my projects.
Weird? I think so.
Thank you for trying to help.

7. Re: Captivate 5 - Properties for Captions - general option
Lilybiri Nov 3, 2010 12:44 PM (in response to KGTS)Hello,
There is no Properties folder, the Preferences folder I did point is labeled 'Captivate 5' and has different files and subfolders. I really would give that a try.
