Using OSX, I created a PDF from InDesign CS3 then used Acrobat Professional to convert the PDF into a form. We've been using this method for several years with no issues. However, when downloading the most recent PDF from our website, it often opens as a blank document. I've tried downloading on Mac, PC using Firefox and IE and the same issue occurs across all platforms and browsers but it's inconsistent.
In an attempt to resolve this issue, we added instructions to download using "save target as..." opposed to just clicking the PDF link to view in the browser. It works about 1 time in 10. I even discarded my preferences before recreating the PDF thinking maybe my Acrobat distiller settings were corrupt to no avail.
Does anyone know what could cause this type of behavior?
This issue may have been caused by loading the PDF to our webserver through Visual Source Safe. Files were uploaded to the server outside of VS and seem to be working. Perhaps I won't have to hurl myself off a bridge in frustration after all!
