3. Re: Acrobat v8 Standard Admin point install patches
Ed Puariea Nov 3, 2010 1:58 PM (in response to Ed Puariea)I found the download for 8.2 an have since downloaded 8.2.2.msp 8.2.3.msp 8.2.4.msp and 8.2.5.msp. The documention does not mention the 8.2.5.msp patch. Will that work on 8.2.4. I would hate to get there and find out I was supposed to go from 8.2 to 8.2.5.msp.

4. Re: Acrobat v8 Standard Admin point install patches
Ed Puariea Nov 3, 2010 2:26 PM (in response to Ed Puariea)I built the 8.0 admin point and of course can't apply the 8.2. to it. i think it said I need to apply the 8.2.msi, i thought i found and downloaded the 8.2.msi but it actually an 8.2.msp. If I in fact need the 8.2.MSI where would one find that?
Thanks

brogers_1 Nov 3, 2010 4:05 PM (in response to Ed Puariea)Ed,
The doc states that Acrobat updates are always MSPs. You must apply every MSP in order. Everything is available at ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/.

6. Re: Acrobat v8 Standard Admin point install patches
Ed Puariea Nov 4, 2010 7:02 AM (in response to brogers_1)The map says 8.0 > 8.2.MSI Please see the chart. I created an admin point with Acrobat Stan v8. I donloaded the 8.2.MSP and 8.2.2.msp and 8.2.3.MSP and 8.2.4.MSP and 8.2.5.MSP. When I try to apply the 8.2.MSP file to my admin point install it tells me the upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer becaouse the program may be missing or the upgrade patch may be adifferent version........... I have admin points set up for Acrobat Stan Pro and reader v9.4 so I have some exsperience with updating the admin point. So not sure what to do at this point, if the map says 8.2.MSI and all I can find is the 8.2.MSP and that does not work, what next?

7. Re: Acrobat v8 Standard Admin point install patches
brogers_1 Nov 4, 2010 9:15 AM (in response to Ed Puariea)Ed,
As I stated before: Acrobat updates are always MSPs. Read the text in the quick key. That's what it says, and it's true. You will not find an MSI know matter how hard you look. Apply all the MSPs.

9. Re: Acrobat v8 Standard Admin point install patches
xaero_26 Nov 4, 2010 10:01 AM (in response to Ed Puariea)8.0.0 > 8.1.0 > 8.1.1 > 8.1.2 > 8.1.3 > 8.1.6 > 8.1.7 > 8.2.0 > 8.2.2 > 8.2.3 > 8.2.5
The basic idea for applying patches is that Security patches can be applied over quarterly patches, quarterly patches can be applied over quarterly patches but quarterly patches cannot be applied over security patches.

10. Re: Acrobat v8 Standard Admin point install patches
Ed Puariea Nov 4, 2010 12:01 PM (in response to xaero_26)Got the correct map now, thanks. I could not find 8.1msp but managed to find it on the last link that was provded to us by Adobe support. I think we are making forward progress at this time.
Thanks to all that helped.
It was a good day I didn't have to use my AK, LOL a quote from a song.
