1. Re: CS5 nVIdia GPU Support?
Colin Brougham Nov 3, 2010 9:44 AM (in response to emin3m33)Does anyone have or know if the laptop nVidia GTX 460m is supported for premiere cs5? I am wondering if CUDA would work on it.
No mobile GPUs are supported for hardware MPE... officially. Some have reported success with the "hack" which you can find with a quick search for "gpu hack" on the forums.
BTW, why isnt adobe listing more and more supported nvidia cards on their site?
At the risk of stating the obvious: because they're not supported. It's not a simple matter of just saying, "Hey! This is supported!" It has to be pretty stringently tested and vetted to make sure it performs as expected, or else the tidal wave of complaints about hardware MPE not working would be crushing. It only stands to reason that more GPUs will be supported, but that's a waiting game for all of us.

It's not on the list of cards that provide CUDA acceleration. So, no, that card won't use the CUDA acceleration features.

We've issued two updates since CS5 was released six months ago. Both updates increased support for such cards; the update released less than two months ago added several.
If you want to request that support for a specific card be added, please file a feature request.
